Registering here, if you choose, provides you the benefit of (1) an email reminder the day-before AND (2) an email notification in case we need to cancel due to weather.Join us at Saint Mary's University to observe the partial solar eclipse on Wednesday August 12 from 2-4pm. ☀️🌑Astronomy experts will be on-site to hand out free eclipse glasses and share telescopes with special, safe, solar filters to observe the eclipse. Eclipse glasses will be freely shared while supplies last. You're welcome to come-and-go as you'd like during this time - you do not need to be there right at 2pm or stay the full 2 hours!Do you remember the solar eclipse in April 2024? In Nova Scotia, this partial solar eclipse won't be quite as dramatic, but we are among the best-situated in all of Canada to observe part of the sun being covered by the moon. For folks in Iceland and Spain, they'll be treated to a total solar eclipse during this time (just like we were in NB, PEI, and more in 2024!).Coincidentally, this night, the Perseid Meteor Shower will peak - so there's plenty to be excited about in the sky! 🌠Fingers crossed for clear skies!
