Nocturne at AGNS! – Oct 17

Harold Cromwell's intricate pen-and-ink drawings from Depression-era rural Nova Scotia are taking over AGNS for Nocturne—drawn entirely from memory on whatever surfaces he could find. Chill evening, artsy vibes, and some seriously moving local history.

Get caught up in the work of folk artist Harold Cromwell whose meticulous pen-and-ink drawings capture his experiences growing up in rural Nova Scotia during the Great Depression. Working entirely from memory, Cromwell’s detailed illustrations, drawn on everything from cupboard doors, to scraps of canvas, to paper plates, illuminate a key moment in Nova Scotia’s history and document a time of great transition in the environment and social fabric of his community in Weymouth Falls.
