Montreal-based klezmer band Yene Velt String Ensemble and Burial Society, who present violin and tsimbl instrumentation drawing from a repertoire of 100-year old recordings, manuscripts collected by travelling folklorists, and original compositions.

King’s alumni Rachel Kimmelman and Lucas Tennen, who transform Yiddish dance into a distinctly modern art form that invites all people to connect with ancestral traditions.

Award-winning Halifax violinist and educator Gina Burgess, shaped by the vitality of both Jewish and Indigenous musical traditions, whose musicianship embodies the possibilities of cross-cultural connection here in Halifax/Kjipuktuk.

Join us for the show and a post-concert discussion between the performers, moderated by Gina Burgess.
